About Watch Patterns
Have you ever come across a watch that has animating patterns that seem to be random? Here is an example:
This site shows how these patterns work and how widespread they are. There are many kinds of patterns that can be found across a few watch brands and models but a key brand is Armitron. The 6x6 grid patterns and 5 segment patterns have been around since at least 2012.
Usually the patterns are connected to the last seconds digit where there are 10 repeating patterns, one for each of the digits from 0 to 9. The circle grid watches involve the seconds from 0 to 59.
This site doesn't investigate animating patterns that are very simple such as these found in Casio watches:
